A STAR is a human being carrying a fragment of power that used to belong to gods. Bulletproof skin. Strength that bends steel. One signature ability each — wind, stone, speed, fire, memory.
Arcadia says STARs are chosen by heaven. Britannia says they're strategic assets. Frysia says they're weapons aimed at people who can't shoot back. All three are describing the same person — and that person never gets a say in the description.
Where does the power actually come from? Because rituals and machines are the official story — and officials lie. The old Frysians say the power has owners. Original owners. Twelve of them.
And one thing more, told only in resistance bars: a STAR can be killed. A man did it. No powers, no artifact, two seconds. Nobody — including him — knows why it worked.
