Fenna

There are two descriptions of Fenna and they cannot both be true.

In one, she's a child standing at a door fifteen years ago, waiting for a brother who said he'd be right back.

In the other, she's a woman in present day Vryehelm, sharp and fast, smiling like she knows the ending of a story you haven't finished reading.

The detective working the Vryehelm murders never says her name. The case keeps circling it anyway, the way water circles a drain, and everything in Day Zero goes down it eventually.
