Jack Bergen

The Moral Survivor

Save
Jack Bergen

“I have done things I cannot take back. That is what survival costs.”— Jack Bergen

Jack Bergen is not a soldier, not a rebel, and not a hero. He is a man trying to hold on to something decent in a world that keeps asking him to let it go. Every choice he makes costs him something. He is still counting the bill.

The Chronicle
I
Origin
Jack was a teacher once. The occupation did not stop the schools. It only changed what was taught. He left the day he understood the difference.
II
The Compromises
The occupation did not break him. It reshaped him into something quieter, and something far more dangerous when pushed too far. He carries the moral weight of every compromise he has made. Other men in his position stopped caring. Jack has not.
III
The Reckoning
That is either his greatest strength or the thing that will finally destroy him. He does not know which yet. The day he finds out will be the day Frysia hears his name.

Other men in his position stopped caring. Jack has not.
